Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Law Enforcement J&K, reviews functioning of law enforcement wing of Department.
Srinagar/18-04-24/ The Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal and Director law enforcement J&K Mohammad Ilyas Khateeb today co-chaired a meeting of concerned officers and took stock of the functioning of enforcement wing of the Department of Agriculture.
While addressing the meeting Director Agriculture Kashmir (Controller Insecticides) Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal said that Department is committed to safeguard the interests of farming community of the region. He exhorted upon the concerned officers to remain in close coordination with the officers of extension wing of the department in order to get effective results in the overall working of the department. He highlighted the importance of transparency and accountibility in the system to ensure smooth distribution of quality pesticides, fertilizers and seeds to the growers and farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Director law enforcement J&K Mohammad Ilyas Khateeb said that the primary objective of the law enforcement wing of the department is to ensure the availability of quality inputs to the farming community of the region through proper sale outlets at appropriate time. He impressed up on the concerned officers to put in all the efforts for online service delivery to the farmers. Khateeb said that while functioning in the field, The concerned officers must ensure that all the provisions of insecticides act, fertilizer control order are implemented in letter and spirit.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Deputy Director Law Enforcement, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir, District Law Enforcement Officer North, District Law Enforcement Officer South and other senior officers of the Enforcement Wing of Agriculture Department.
