SRINAGAR, May 2: In a major relief for the selected Haj pilgrims of Chadoora and adjacent areas the Chadoora branch of Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited has started the Saudi riyal exchange facility at the bank branch. The move has been hailed by the public, especially the Haj pilgrims.
Talking to news agency Associated News Bureau (ANB) an officer of the bank branch said that the selected Haj pilgrims need not to go to Srinagar or Budgam or any other bank branch for the exchange of Indian currency with the Saudi riyals. He asked the selected Haj pilgrims to avail the facility and said that the exchange of currency will be a smooth affair.
“The selected Haj pilgrims should come here and avail the currency exchange facility at our branch. With regards to the cash facility we can exchange the Saudi riyal for an amount of Rs. 50,000 and the same can be around seven lakh rupees for the transfer or cheque,” said the bank officer.
The bank officer said that basic formalities like a Xerox copy of the passport, PAN card, cheque or withdrawal form would have to be followed by the selected Haj pilgrims if they want the higher denomination to be exchanged. He asked the selected Haj pilgrims of Chadoora and nearby areas to come and avail the currency exchange facility at Chadoora branch of Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited. ANB
