AM/NS India Launches World-Class Optigal® Prime Steel in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar/Jammu, Sept 24: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has introduced its globally acclaimed colour-coated steel brand Optigal® Prime in Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to meet the region’s demand for high-performance, weather-resistant construction materials.

Engineered with ArcelorMittal’s patented European technology, Optigal® Prime offers up to three times more corrosion resistance compared to conventional coatings. The product has been designed to withstand extreme cold, prolonged monsoons, and freeze–thaw cycles, making it particularly suited for mountain homes as well as large-scale infrastructure projects including airports, railway stations, highways, and other critical developments in the Union Territory.

Unveiling the product, Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President of Sales & Marketing, AM/NS India, said:
“Optigal® Prime’s availability in Jammu & Kashmir reiterates our commitment to provide durable, sustainable innovations for both individual builders and large infrastructure projects. Already a favourite in Europe, the Optigal® range offers unmatched corrosion resistance and durability. Its launch in India will play a key role in building future-ready, quality-conscious infrastructure across the region.”

The introduction of Optigal® Prime marks the first time C4 specialty steel—a grade previously unavailable in India—has been made locally, positioning AM/NS India as the country’s sole domestic producer in this segment.

Highlighting the company’s contribution to landmark projects in J&K, Mr. Dhar pointed out that AM/NS India had supplied 100% of the steel for the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest rail bridge, and 70% for the Anji Khad Bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge.

Optigal® Prime is backed by a 15-year warranty and comes in six specialised variants: High Gloss, Anti-Dust, Anti-Graffiti, Anti-Static, Anti-Microbial, and Cool Roof. It also features advanced finishes such as Silicon Modified Polyester (SMP), Super Durable Polyester (SDP), and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) coatings. The unique Zinc-Aluminium-Magnesium technology used provides up to triple the protection against corrosion and weathering.

With its launch in Jammu & Kashmir, AM/NS India seeks to strengthen its footprint in high-performance construction materials, offering builders and developers a versatile solution for both residential and large-scale projects in one of India’s most demanding environments.
