Budhal, June 30: ANB ; Nestled in the Budhal region of Rajouri district lies a hidden jewel—Maal Top, a valley that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, spiritual serenity, and tourist appeal. Every year, hundreds of visitors are drawn to this enchanting spot. This year, Maal Top has witnessed a record-breaking influx of tourists. Yet, despite its growing popularity, the area still awaits meaningful support and recognition from the Department of Tourism. There is an undeniable charm in the air of Maal Top. Beneath the blue sky, lush green hills sway with trees, and the distant calls of shepherds create scenes that remain etched in the hearts of all who visit. Maal Top is a place where nature’s artistry is at its peak. Each season unveils a new face—spring’s vibrant greenery, summer’s cool breezes, autumn’s golden hues, and the snowy tranquility of winter—all blending to enrich the soul of the valley. According to tourists, Budhal’s Maal is not just a place—it is an experience. Visitors feel deeply connected to nature here. For those weary of the chaos of urban life, this valley offers a breath of peace. The silence of Budhal, the whispers of streams, and the melody of birds bring a rare sense of tranquility—something increasingly hard to find in today’s fast-paced world. Yet, the irony remains that all this beauty has been largely ignored by the  Tourism department  and government authorities. There are not yet   roads  , Connectivity accommodations,  information centers, and  lack of even basic infrastructure. Tourists often find themselves helpless, and locals are disheartened by years of unfulfilled promises. The area continues to wait for the “mercy and attention” of the tourism department. Due to apathy, administrative inefficiency, and lack of policy interest, Budhal’s Maal remains far from becoming a functional tourist hub. Announcements and promises have been limited to press statements, while the ground reality remains unchanged. Several visits have taken place, and promises have been made—but no concrete action has followed. Local residents say that if the tourism department doesn’t act with seriousness, the region could lose its natural grandeur. According to news service, associated news bureau, anb,  “For years, we’ve had only one prayer: that someday the government may turn its gracious gaze towards us,” said an elderly resident. Maal Top is not just a location—it is a natural asset. If preserved and developed, it can boost the local economy, open new chapters in Kashmir’s tourism narrative, provide employment opportunities for youth, empower women through local industries, and lead the entire region toward progress. Tourists visiting Maal Top have made a heartfelt appeal to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir—especially the Department of Tourism—to prioritize the development of this unique treasure. They urge not just more promises, but practical steps: allocation of funds, infrastructure improvement, and development of facilities—so that Maal Top and other scenic spots in Budhal can finally receive the recognition and accessibility they deserve.
