BJP’s People
New Delhi, August 25:
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, extolled the transformative policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that have ushered in significant changes in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the political landscape ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, Khatana emphasized the need to challenge entrenched dynastic politics that he believes hinder the participation of ordinary citizens in the nation's development.
Khatana highlighted the decision of Jamat-e-Islami to contest the assembly elections as a direct affront to dynastic politics. “Jamat-e-Islami is contesting the assembly polls because they have seen a ray of hope under Modi Ji’s leadership in the country,” Khatana remarked. He lauded Prime Minister Modi for creating an inclusive environment that offers opportunities to all citizens for contributing to nation-building. “Those who believe in Indian democracy and the policies of Shri Narendra Modi will not be disappointed,” he added, expressing confidence in the Prime Minister’s vision for the country.
Khatana went on to discuss recent political developments in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the alliance between former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He characterized this coalition as an attempt to undermine the progress and stability achieved in the region. “Yesterday, Mehbooba Ji offered an alliance to the National Conference and Congress, and today Omar Abdullah accepted it. This alliance is nothing but a conspiracy to destabilize the peace and progress of Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.
Addressing the significance of this political maneuver, Khatana expressed concern over the potential repercussions for the region’s fragile peace. He criticized the move as a strategy to disrupt the harmony and development that have been fostered under the current administration. “This alliance threatens to unravel the normalcy, peace, and progress that Modi has achieved in Kashmir,” he stated.
Reflecting on recent interactions between political figures, Khatana mentioned a recent meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah in Kashmir. He used this incident to underscore his criticism of traditional political elites, asserting that such meetings are indicative of a disregard for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. “I feel proud to be a soldier of BJP, a party that ends the fear of being killed in Kashmir. Now, you can have dining anywhere in Kashmir because Kashmiris want peace and progress,” he said, highlighting the BJP’s commitment to enhancing the region’s security and stability.
Khatana further criticized the erstwhile political leadership, accusing them of exploiting the people of Kashmir for personal gain. “The dynasts have sacrificed the people in Kashmir for the sake of their chairs,” he lamented. He contrasted this with the BJP’s approach, which he described as transformative and people-centric.
Praising Prime Minister Modi’s governance, Khatana emphasized the significant strides made in Kashmir under his leadership. “Modi Ji has changed the definition of governance. There is no civilian killings and strike calendar in Kashmir. Modi Ji provides opportunities for Kashmiri youth to decide their own future,” he noted. Khatana credited Modi’s policies with fostering an environment conducive to growth and development, allowing the youth to actively participate in shaping their destinies.
In stark contrast, Khatana criticized Abdullah, Gandhi, and Mufti for what he perceives as their manipulative tactics. “Unfortunately, for decades, Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti used the Kashmiri people as human shields to save their chairs,” he accused, suggesting that their actions were detrimental to the region’s well-being.
The BJP, under Modi’s leadership, continues to position itself as a champion of change, advocating for policies that prioritize development, security, and the empowerment of all citizens, including those in Jammu and Kashmir.
