New Delhi, May 22, 2026: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the Border Security Force (BSF), established in 1965 under the leadership of K.F. Rustamji to strengthen the country’s border security, has today become synonymous with service to the nation because of the sacrifice, bravery and valour of its personnel. Addressing the ‘Rustamji Memorial Lecture’ organised in New Delhi, the Home Minister honoured brave BSF jawans for their distinguished service and contribution to national security. He lauded the BSF for its unwavering commitment towards protecting the country’s borders and maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation under challenging conditions. The programme also highlighted the significant role played by the BSF in strengthening the country’s security framework since its inception. Senior officials and dignitaries present at the event paid tribute to the courage and dedication of BSF personnel serving across the nation’s frontiers.
