CDS Reviews Progress of New HQ IDS Complex at Mehram Nagar, Launches Tree Plantation Drive
New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan reviewed the progress of construction work at the new Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) complex at Mehram Nagar during a visit held as part of the Silver Jubilee Year celebrations.
On the occasion, senior officers of HQ IDS participated in a tree plantation drive, during which the CDS planted a “Sindoor” tree, symbolising environmental commitment and institutional growth.
During the inspection, General Chauhan interacted with construction workers and enquired about their well-being. He appreciated their contribution towards the development of the important national institution and acknowledged their role in the timely execution of the project.
The CDS also interacted with the staff of HQ IDS and underlined the significance of the upcoming establishment in enhancing organisational cohesion, coordination and operational efficiency.
Officials said the new HQ IDS complex will bring the organisation under one roof, ensuring greater permanency, stability and a stronger institutional framework for the integrated functioning of the Defence Forces.
