Jammu, January 4, ANB: From Parivar Parv to Sangathan Parv; NC, and INC need to learn the basic lesson of true democracy, said Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia.
Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, Spokesperson, J&K BJP accompanied by Dr. Pradeep Mahotra, Media Incharge, J&K BJP, was addressing a press conference at the BJP Headquarters in Jammu today.
Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) and Indian National Congress (INC) for eroding democratic principles in their organizational and leadership structures. He contrasted their approach with the BJP’s commitment to fostering democracy through its Sangathan Parv.
Dr. Jasrotia said that the NC and INC don’t believe in democracy and don’t follow it. They use the word ‘democracy’ to hoodwink masses and workers to enjoy power corridors themselves.
Dr. Jasrotia highlighted a historical instance of undemocratic decision-making in Congress. "In the 1946 Congress Working Committee (CWC) elections, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel received 12 votes, while Jawaharlal Nehru received just one. Yet, Nehru was selected as India’s first Prime Minister, disregarding the democratic mandate. This set the precedent for a system of selected rather than elected leadership in the Congress," he stated.
He also accused the NC of replicating similar undemocratic practices in Jammu and Kashmir, which alienated the grassroots and created a culture of dynastic politics. "Both NC and INC have betrayed the democratic spirit by sidelining grassroots voices in favor of dynastic and elitist agendas," Dr. Jasrotia added.
In stark contrast, he praised the BJP’s Sangathan Parv as a model of true democracy. He explained how the party’s internal elections begin at the booth level and move through the mandal, district, and state levels, culminating in the election of the national president. "This process ensures leadership reflects the will of the party workers and the grassroots," he emphasized.
Dr. Jasrotia also addressed the recent controversy over Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s bag story, calling it a biased narrative designed to distract from pressing political issues. He urged the media to remain objective and focus on substantive matters.
The press conference concluded with Dr. Jasrotia urging the people of Jammu and Kashmir to reject the outdated and undemocratic practices of NC and INC and embrace a new era of participatory politics under the BJP. (ANB)
