IGP Kashmir Reviews Security and Policing Arrangements in Bandipora , Focus on Counter-Terrorism Measures, Law and Order and Operational Preparedness

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 23: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday visited Bandipora district and reviewed the prevailing security situation, counter-terrorism measures, law and order preparedness, crime scenario and operational readiness of the district police. The IGP was accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Range, Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, during the visit. A security review meeting was held at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines (DPL), Bandipora, where SSP Bandipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar, JKPS, briefed the senior officers on the overall security situation and policing arrangements in the district. The meeting reviewed various aspects of policing and security, including counter-terrorism measures, intelligence inputs, area domination, security arrangements at vulnerable and sensitive locations, law and order preparedness, crime trends and operational capabilities of the district police. The meeting was attended by the Additional SP Bandipora and all Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) of the district. During the review, IGP Sujit Kumar stressed the need for heightened vigilance and effective coordination among field formations. He directed officers to maintain alertness and ensure a prompt and coordinated response to any emerging security or law and order challenge. He also emphasized public-friendly policing, timely investigation and disposal of criminal cases, besides strengthening operational preparedness in accordance with evolving field requirements. The IGP called upon officers and personnel to maintain close coordination, remain responsive to public concerns and further strengthen police-public relations while addressing security challenges effectively. Sujit Kumar appreciated the dedication and professionalism of police personnel deployed in the district and urged all ranks to continue discharging their duties with sincerity and commitment to ensure the safety and security of the people. The visit was part of the ongoing review of security and policing arrangements across Kashmir and efforts to strengthen district-level operational and law and order mechanisms. ANB
