INDIAN ARMY FACILITATES CONDUCT OF ADVANCE COURSE FOR WOMEN OF LADAKH


 

 

 

An Entrepreneurship Awareness Program was organised by Leh Sub Area at Women Empowerment Centre, Leh from 18 to 23 March 2024. 30 ladies from Leh attended the program including dependents of veterans and serving personnel, Veer Naris and Widows. The program was conducted by qualified trainers from ‘I Create NGO’ based at Bengaluru, on behalf of Bajaj Allainz Insurance Co Ltd.

 

The ladies were trained on modalities for establishment and running business ventures successfully and imparted knowledge on support available from various Government and private agencies for such ventures. Guidance and support by the NGOs will continue, even post completion of the training, for establishing any business ventures.

 

Women Empowerment Centre at Leh has emerged as a major initiative for empowerment of ladies of Ladakh assisting them in becoming self reliant in line with the broader national vision of Nari Shakti. This recent initiative by Fire and Fury Corps is a testimony to the commitment of Indian Army towards welfare of Veer Naris, widows and female dependents of veterans and serving personnel of Army.

INDIAN ARMY FACILITATES CONDUCT OF ADVANCE COURSE FOR WOMEN OF LADAKH

Leh Sub Area alongwith Looms of Ladakh sponsored a three month residential Business Management Certificate Course for ten women from Ladakh, which was conducted at Handloom School, Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh from 15 Nov 2023 to 29 Feb 2024.

 

Post completion of the training, the ladies were welcomed back at the Women Empowerment Centre, Leh on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024. The trainees shared their experiences and were handed over certificates on successful completion the course. One Veer Nari, one widow and four dependents of veterans and serving personnel from Ladakh were also a part of this training.

 

During the three months training, the attendees were given exposure to designing, weaving, business management, marketing and merchandising of products. The ladies had previously undergone intensive training at Women Empowerment Centre of Fire and Fury Corps which has emerged as a major hub for empowerment of women of Ladakh, assisting  them to become self reliant, in line with the broader national vision and sponsoring NARI SHAKTI.
