Siachen Base Camp, June 26: ANB ; In a spirited prelude to the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army flagged off the ‘Forever in Operations Mountain Terrain Bicycle Expedition 2025’ from the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Base Camp. The event reflects the Army’s enduring legacy of grit, endurance, and service in extreme conditions. Comprising 20 highly trained personnel, the expedition will cover a formidable 650 km route through the rugged terrain of Ladakh, culminating at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on 10 July 2025. The route will challenge riders with glaciated roads, river crossings, high mountain passes, and oxygen-deficient altitudes—demanding both physical resilience and mental fortitude. According to news service, Associated News Bureau, ANB, Symbolically connecting Siachen, the highest active battlefield, with Kargil, the emblem of sacrifice and valour, the expedition bridges past heroism with present commitment. Along the way, the cyclists will engage with local communities, students, and war veterans through outreach programmes, awareness campaigns, and patriotic interactions—aimed at fostering national pride and unity.
