J&K Police Busts Major Inter-State, Transnational Terror Module Linked to JeM and AGuH, Massive Cache of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Recovered; Several Key Operatives Arrested

Srinagar, November 10:
In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted an inter-state and transnational terror module linked with the proscribed terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). The operation has resulted in the arrest of several key operatives and the recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during coordinated searches conducted across J&K and other states.
According to police, the investigation stems from an incident on October 19, 2025, when multiple JeM posters threatening security forces were found pasted at various locations in Bunpora Nowgam, Srinagar. A case (FIR No. 162/2025) was registered at Police Station Nowgam under relevant sections of the UAPA, BNS, Explosive Substances Act, and Arms Act, and a detailed investigation was initiated.
The probe uncovered a white-collar terror ecosystem involving radicalized professionals and students in contact with foreign handlers operating from Pakistan and other countries. The network used encrypted digital channels for indoctrination, coordination, fund transfers, and logistics. Funds were reportedly raised through professional and academic networks, disguised as contributions to social or charitable causes.
Investigators revealed that the accused were involved in identifying and radicalizing new recruits, raising funds, arranging logistics, and procuring arms and IED materials for terrorist activities.

2. Yasir-ul-Ashraf, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar

During the investigation, simultaneous searches were conducted at multiple locations in Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, and Shopian, with additional operations in Faridabad (Haryana) and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) in coordination with respective state police forces.
The raids led to the recovery of arms, ammunition, incriminating documents, and IED-making materials, including:

One Chinese Star Pistol (with ammunition)

One Beretta Pistol (with ammunition)

One AK-56 Rifle (with ammunition)

One AK Krinkov Rifle (with ammunition)

2,900 kg of IED-making material, including explosives, chemicals, reagents, inflammable substances, electronic circuits, batteries, wires, remote controls, timers, and metal sheets.

Ongoing Financial Investigation

A detailed financial investigation is underway to trace the flow of terror funds and identify domestic and international linkages associated with the module.
The J&K Police termed the breakthrough a significant blow to the terror network operating within and outside the Union Territory. “This investigation stands as a testimony to the diligence and determination of our officers and personnel. J&K Police remain steadfast in their resolve to eliminate terrorism and safeguard peace and security in the region,” a police spokesperson said.
