J&K Set to Host Major Development Expo Showcasing India’s Progress Towards Viksit Bharat 2047 : MP Khatana

Srinagar, June 16: Jammu and Kashmir is poised to host a major national exhibition and public awareness initiative aimed at showcasing India's developmental achievements and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. The three-day event, titled “Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2026 – Building the Path Towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047,” will be held from June 17 to 19 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar. The exhibition is expected to bring together leading public sector enterprises, scientific institutions, government departments and development agencies from across the country on a common platform. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday ,Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ghulam Ali Khatana said the initiative has been designed as a large-scale public outreach programme to highlight India's progress across key sectors, including infrastructure, science and technology, healthcare, agriculture, education, energy, environment, innovation and public service delivery. He said Jammu and Kashmir is increasingly contributing to the country's development trajectory and emerging as an important stakeholder in the national mission of building a developed India by 2047. According to the organisers, the exhibition will provide citizens, particularly youth, students, entrepreneurs, researchers and professionals, with an opportunity to engage directly with institutions driving innovation, development and public welfare across the country. The event will also focus on creating awareness about flagship government programmes, scientific advancements, technological innovations and developmental initiatives that are shaping India's future growth. Several prominent organisations are expected to participate in the exhibition, including NHPC, BIS, ICMR, ISRO, CSIR, ICAR, APEDA, Northern Railway, IRCTC, CPCB, Survey of India, POWERGRID, HURL, NFL, NBCC, REC, NTPC, TRIFED, National Jute Board, NAFED, the Department of Atomic Energy and various other public sector undertakings, research institutions and government bodies. The exhibition will feature thematic pavilions, technology demonstrations, innovation showcases, interactive displays and citizen awareness campaigns, offering visitors firsthand exposure to emerging technologies and national development initiatives. Organisers described the event as a significant platform for promoting innovation, strengthening collaboration between institutions and the public, and inspiring young people to contribute to India's long-term development goals under the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision.
