Jammu & Kashmir’s Wushu athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the ongoing 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, securing multiple medals and showcasing their dominance in the sport.
Star athletes Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Mohd Kamraan clinched gold medals, bringing glory to the region in the men’s Sanda event. Meanwhile, Ayeera Chisti secured a silver medal, while Arjun Sharma, Rohan, Ishant Singh, and Saleem Kumar won bronze medals in their respective categories.
In the final bouts, Surya Bhanu Partap Singh outclassed his Manipur opponent in the 60kg category, while Mohd Kamraan triumphed over his Services Sports Control Board competitor in the 90+ kg category. Ayeera Chisti put up a strong fight but had to settle for silver after a tough match against her Madhya Pradesh opponent.
With a total of two gold, one silver, and four bronze medals, J&K Wushu secured second place in the men’s Sanda event, finishing behind the Services team.
