LOP Sunil Sharma Accuses INDIA Alliance of Losing Public Connect, Questions CM Omar Abdullah’s ‘Vote Chori’ Remarks
JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Kumar Sharma, on Monday accused the INDIA Alliance of losing its public support and political connect, alleging that the opposition was attempting to create unrest on the streets instead of reaching out to the people.
Reacting to the alliance’s political stance, Sharma questioned Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s remarks on alleged electoral irregularities, referring to his statements following the 2024 elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma said Omar Abdullah had earlier acknowledged that the 2024 Assembly elections were conducted fairly and had raised no concerns regarding the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
“Today, he is talking about ‘vote chori’,” Sharma said, questioning the apparent change in Abdullah’s position.
The Leader of the Opposition further asserted that if Omar Abdullah believed electoral irregularities had taken place, he should take responsibility and resign before making such allegations.
Sharma accused the INDIA Alliance of attempting to shift the political discourse towards street protests rather than engaging directly with the public over its concerns. ANB
