Major General Tushar Sharma Assumes Command of Kilo Force in North Kashmir

Srinagar, November 1, 2025:
Major General Tushar Sharma on Saturday assumed command of the Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) in North Kashmir as the 21st General Officer Commanding (GOC), succeeding Major General Vivek Narang.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Sharma has held several key staff and command appointments across varied terrains and operational formations. He brings with him extensive experience in counter-terrorism operations, reflecting a distinguished career marked by professionalism and leadership.

Upon assuming command, Major General Sharma paid solemn homage at the war memorial, honouring the Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. He urged all ranks to uphold the proud legacy of the formation through unwavering dedication, discipline, and devotion to duty.

Reaffirming his commitment to operational excellence, the GOC underscored the importance of combat readiness to counter emerging security challenges and thwart any hostile or nefarious designs by inimical forces in North Kashmir.

The assumption of command marks a continuation of the Kilo Force’s pivotal role in maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region.
