Northeast United FC to Conduct Historic Open Football Trials in Srinagar,J&K Youth Get Direct Opportunity to Impress Indian Super League Club
Srinagar, May 16: ANB: In a major boost to football development in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Super League (ISL) club Northeast United FC is set to conduct open selection trials in Srinagar in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council. The initiative marks the first-ever visit by an ISL club to the Union Territory for open football trials aimed at identifying young talent.
The trials will be held on May 18 at 11 AM at the TRC Synthetic Turf Ground. Young footballers from across Jammu and Kashmir are expected to participate in what is being seen as a landmark opportunity for aspiring players to showcase their talent before professional scouts and coaches from a top-tier Indian football club.
According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB, the selection process will be conducted in two categories including Under-21 players born in 2006, 2007 and 2008, and Under-18 players born in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Sports enthusiasts and football lovers have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the football ecosystem in the region and providing local players with exposure at the national level.
The collaboration between Northeast United FC and the J&K Sports Council is expected to encourage young athletes and create new pathways for professional football in Kashmir. ANB
