Jammu, 19th May 2025: A one-day awareness camp was successfully conducted by Civil Defence Jammu at the NCC Camp, Nagrota, under the supervision of Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu. The programme aimed at educating youth on essential life-saving techniques and disaster preparedness.
The camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 300 NCC cadets from the 1st Battalion, Srinagar. Civil Defence experts provided hands-on training and demonstrations on First Aid, fire fighting, CPR, and other critical survival skills. The practical demonstrations by the Civil Defence team were a major highlight, ensuring the cadets received real-time experience in handling emergencies.
Dy. SP Zia-ul-Haq, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu, delivered an insightful lecture on Disaster Management, emphasizing the vital role Civil Defence plays during natural and man-made disasters. Sh. Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden Civil Defence Jammu, also addressed the gathering, elaborating on the functions and significance of the Civil Defence Warden Services.
Col. Souravh Saxena, Commandant 1st NCC Battalion, lauded the efforts of the Civil Defence team and expressed gratitude for organizing such a valuable awareness programme. The event was also attended by Sh. R. Vijay Magotra, Dy. Chief Warden Civil Defence Jammu, along with staff members of NCC Nagrota.
