Pangong Tso, February 27:ANB : The fourth edition of the Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon 2026 was conducted successfully today at Pangong Tso, regarded as the world’s highest frozen lake at an altitude of nearly 14,000 feet.
Organised with the support of the Fire and Fury Corps, the high-altitude sporting event drew participation from more than 450 runners. Participants endured sub-zero temperatures, rarefied air, and a demanding icy course while competing in categories ranging from 5 km races to the full 42 km marathon. The event stood as a true test of stamina, determination, and mental grit amid extreme winter conditions.
The General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps, along with all ranks, extended congratulations to the personnel of the Ladakh Scouts for their exceptional achievements across categories.

The “Top Gun” runners of Forever in Operations Division were also commended for their collective excellence in the 5 km and 10 km segments, while the consistent support provided by Trishul Division was acknowledged.
The successful organisation of the marathon underscores the Indian Army’s sustained commitment to advancing winter sports and nurturing a strong culture of fitness in Ladakh, despite the region’s harsh and unforgiving terrain. ANB
