Srinagar, May 29, 2025, ANB, A high-level delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) met with Satish Chandra, Hon’ble Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (J&K RERA), to deliberate on critical regulatory issues and the overall development of the real estate sector in the Union Territory.
The delegation was led by Rajeev Talwar, Past President of PHDCCI, along with Himayu Wani, Co-Chair, PHDCCI Kashmir; Sameer Gupta from PHDCCI New Delhi; Retired Major General Ashok Narula (AVSM); and Iqbal Fayaz Jan, Deputy Director of PHDCCI Kashmir. During the meeting, the delegation brought to light several pressing issues affecting the growth and regulation of the real estate sector in Jammu & Kashmir. Key points of discussion included streamlining approval processes, promoting transparency, and encouraging sustainable infrastructure development to attract investments and stimulate regional economic growth.
Satish Chandra, Chairperson of J&K RERA, acknowledged the concerns raised and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders. He encouraged the PHDCCI to submit a detailed report outlining sector-specific challenges and actionable recommendations to support holistic infrastructure and real estate development across the Union Territory.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Talwar stated, “The real estate sector is a key driver of economic progress, and constructive dialogue with regulatory authorities is essential to address bottlenecks. We appreciate the Hon’ble Chairperson’s proactive approach and will soon present a comprehensive set of recommendations.”
Himayu Wani added, “Jammu & Kashmir holds immense potential for real estate and infrastructure growth. This meeting marks a significant step toward creating a more conducive ecosystem for developers and investors.” ANB
