Srinagar, June 13, ANB, Continuing its drive against drug menace, Police in Kupwara have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
According to News Service, Associated News Bureau, ANB, Police party of PS Kupwara at a checkpoint established at Gonipora Haihama, arrested a drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmed Khan son of Momin Khan resident of Gonipora Haihama Kupwara. During search, substantial quantity of Heroine-like substance was recovered from his possession. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the accused was engaged in illicit drug trafficking.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated.
General public is once again appealed to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking and abuse. ANB
