Senior BJP leader Rajni Sethi has said that the reservation for women in Parliament is not a mere political gesture but a landmark structural reform that has transformed lives across the country.
“These are not lollypops but structural reforms that have empowered women and brought lasting change,” she said.
Sethi pointed out that prior to the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A, women in Jammu and Kashmir faced discriminatory laws that denied them equal rights. “It was only after 2019 that women in J&K gained full constitutional equality and dignity. This historic transformation was made possible by the BJP government,” she emphasized.
Condemning a recent remark made by an NC minister as “shameful and insensitive,” Sethi said it exposes the party’s lack of commitment to women’s rights.
“The BJP stands firmly with every woman of Jammu and Kashmir — not with hollow promises, but with a proven record of empowerment, equality, and respect,” she asserted.
