Sat Sharma Releases Book on Hindutva’s Historical and Cultural Roots in J&K


Jammu, 19 February 2026:BJP Jammu & Kashmir President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sat Sharma on Thursday released the book “Fostering of Hindutva in J&K: Historical and Cultural Perspective” at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The book has been authored by S.K. Sharma, former Commissioner of Income Tax and Co-Convener of the Nanaji Deshmukh Library and Documentation Centre. The release function witnessed the presence of several senior party leaders and functionaries.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma described books as the “civilizational memory and intellectual conscience of society,” emphasizing that literature possesses the enduring power to shape generations and influence the destiny of nations. He appreciated the BJP’s Library Department for developing a valuable repository of rare and significant works that document ideological, cultural and historical narratives.
He said such initiatives play a crucial role in preserving the intellectual heritage of Jammu & Kashmir and in strengthening the foundations of nationalist thought in the region.
Praising the author’s extensive research and effort, Sat Sharma noted that the book presents a comprehensive account of the historical and cultural evolution of Jammu & Kashmir. He expressed confidence that it would guide the younger generation in understanding their civilizational roots and cultural identity. He added that Hindutva represents not merely a belief system but a broader cultural and geographical identity that has historically united diverse communities.
Highlighting the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sat Sharma said that under the Modi Government, significant steps have been taken to revive, preserve and promote the rich cultural and historical legacy of Jammu & Kashmir as well as the nation at large. He observed that efforts to restore heritage sites, promote indigenous traditions and reinforce national integration reflect the government’s commitment to cultural renaissance.
Speaking on the occasion, author S.K. Sharma said the book conveys a message of unity and geographical integration, urging the youth to stay connected with their roots and collectively contribute towards building a strong and culturally integrated nation.
Among those present were BJP Vice-President Rekha Mahajan, General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, All Cell Incharge Ved Sharma, District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia, Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, Department of Library Incharge Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, and other senior leaders and party functionaries.
