SSP Anantnag Reviews Crime, Operations; Officers Honoured for Crackdown on Drug Trafficking
Anantnag, May 18: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS), on Monday chaired a comprehensive crime and operations review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag to assess the prevailing crime situation and review the progress of investigations across the district.
The meeting was attended by SP Headquarters Anantnag Sunny Gupta (IPS), ASP North Camp Aishmuqam Rameez Raja, DySP Headquarters Anantnag, DySP DAR DPL Anantnag, besides all SDPOs, SHOs and In-Charges of Police Posts of the district.
At the outset, the SSP felicitated SDPO Bijbehara, SHO Bijbehara and DO Sangam for registering the highest number of cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and for taking effective action against the financial networks of drug smugglers.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted on pending cases, progress of investigations, execution of warrants, disposal of under-investigation cases and action against habitual offenders. Discussions also focused on improving the quality and timeliness of investigations and ensuring effective supervision at all levels.
The SSP directed officers to expedite investigations in pending cases and ensure professional and lawful handling of all crime-related matters. He stressed the need for close monitoring of investigations, enhanced coordination among investigating officers and strict action against criminal elements.
Emphasising the importance of a strong legal framework in narcotics-related cases, SSP Anantnag instructed officers to prepare legally sustainable cases under the NDPS Act to ensure effective prosecution of drug peddlers and traffickers.
The officers were further directed to strengthen preventive measures, maintain updated crime records and ensure prompt follow-up in sensitive cases. Highlighting accountability and professionalism, the SSP urged all officers to work with dedication and commitment for effective crime control and timely delivery of justice.
