Sultan Warriors Baramulla Lift Inaugural Chinar Premier League 2026 Trophy
Srinagar, September 15: Sultan Warriors Baramulla emerged champions of the inaugural Chinar Premier League (CPL) Cricket Tournament 2026, defeating Ramzii Sports Srinagar in an exciting final at Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla.
The tournament, organised by the Chinar Corps, witnessed record participation, with 130 teams registering for the competition. As many as 79 teams were selected from across the Kashmir Valley, making CPL 2026 one of the region’s most competitive and widely followed cricket tournaments.
In the grand finale, Sultan Warriors Baramulla posted 182 runs for the loss of nine wickets, while Ramzii Sports Srinagar were bowled out for 142 runs. Sultan Warriors thus secured the CPL 2026 title in a keenly contested final.
Aaqib Khanday of Sultan Warriors Baramulla was adjudged the Player of the Match, while his teammate Asim Bashir was named Player of the Series.
The closing ceremony was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, IAS, the General Officer Commanding of Dagger Division and distinguished members of the local community.
The tournament brought together cricketing talent from across the Kashmir Valley and provided young players with a platform to showcase their skills and pursue their sporting aspirations.
The successful conduct of CPL 2026 was also aimed at strengthening engagement between the Indian Army and the local community, particularly the youth. The organisers said the tournament would encourage talented youngsters in the Valley to pursue their ambitions in sports and inspire them to follow their dreams.
