RAJOURI, February 14: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday undertook an extensive inspection tour of Nowshera to review the progress of major infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening connectivity and civic amenities in the region.
During the visit, he inspected the construction of a 120-metre motorable bridge and approach road from Bagnoti to Dabber over the Nowshera River being executed under the aegis of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. The project, estimated at ₹771.07 lakh, is scheduled for completion by June 6, 2026.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the ₹799 lakh upgradation work of the 2.9-kilometre NH-144A to Nowshera Town road and examined the progress of a ₹700 lakh, 70-metre bridge project linking Breri and Maseeti Mohalla, Nonial.
Emphasising strict adherence to quality standards and timelines, Choudhary directed the executing agencies to maintain transparency in implementation and ensure that developmental works deliver maximum public benefit. He stressed that no compromise should be made on construction quality.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister visited Sub District Hospital Nowshera, where he interacted with patients and reviewed the availability of treatment facilities and healthcare services.
Chief Engineer PWD Tilak Raj, Executive Engineer PWD Nowshera Sarwar Mehmood and other district and sectoral officers briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the status and pace of the ongoing works.
