Srinagar, Nov 29: A fire erupted on Saturday at Rangar Stop in the Khanyar area of Srinagar, causing damage to a residential building, officials reported.
Fire and Emergency Services teams quickly reached the scene and managed to contain the blaze before it spread to nearby homes.
According to officials, the fire affected a three-storey house, with damage largely restricted to the second floor. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Fire tenders from the Hazratbal and Rainawari commands were deployed, and firefighters battled the flames for over an hour to bring the situation under control.
Police said the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
Residents noted that the swift response from fire personnel prevented what could have been a major disaster in the densely populated area. ANB
