UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination Conducted Smoothly Across Srinagar Centres
Srinagar, May 24: The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 was conducted successfully on Sunday across nine sub-centres established in Srinagar under the supervision of the Divisional Administration Kashmir amid comprehensive security and administrative arrangements.
Officials said elaborate measures were put in place to ensure the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the examination, including uninterrupted power supply, adequate staffing and strict monitoring at all examination centres.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, face authentication for candidates’ attendance was implemented across all sub-centres and achieved 100 percent success, officials said.
A total of 2,001 candidates, including 27 Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, appeared in the examination.
To facilitate PwD aspirants, a dedicated examination sub-centre was established at the Government College of Education, M.A. Road, Srinagar, equipped with all necessary facilities and support systems to ensure accessibility and convenience for the candidates.
Officials termed the successful conduct of the prestigious examination as a result of coordinated efforts by the Divisional Administration, security agencies and examination staff.
