99 Police Personnel Begin Pre-Promotional Training at PTS Stongsar
Leh, August 19, 2026: Director General of Police, Ladakh, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, today formally inaugurated Pre-Promotional Courses (PPCs) for 99 police officers and officials at the Police Training School (PTS), Stongsar, Chuchot, Leh.
The promotion-oriented courses are being conducted for personnel preparing for the ranks of Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constable and five Followers. The training is aimed at strengthening their professional knowledge, leadership abilities, physical fitness and operational skills before they assume higher responsibilities.
On his arrival at PTS Stongsar, the DGP was accorded a Guard of Honour. Principal, PTS Stongsar and Commandant, IRP 25th Battalion, Shri Altaf Ahmad Shah, IPS, delivered the welcome address and briefed the trainees on the objectives and structure of the PPCs.
DIG LKR, Shri Koshal Kumar Sharma, IPS, also addressed the trainees and underlined the importance of discipline, professional competence and continuous learning in police service.
Addressing the trainees, DGP Anand Jain stressed the need to maintain high standards of integrity, discipline, physical fitness, professional knowledge and commitment to public service. He urged the participants to make full use of the training opportunity and prepare themselves to shoulder the greater responsibilities associated with their future assignments.
During his visit, the DGP also reviewed the ongoing training of Recruit SPOs and Commandos at PTS Stongsar and interacted with personnel undergoing training.
The programme concluded with a group photograph of the DGP, senior police officers, faculty members and PPC trainees.
The inauguration of the courses marks another step in PTS Stongsar’s efforts to strengthen professional capacity within the police force through structured training and prepare personnel for higher responsibilities. ANB
