*Amit Shah Chairs High-Level Security Review on Jammu and Kashmir*
*Focus on sustaining peace, intensifying counter-terror operations*

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officers. According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB,During the meeting, Amit Shah reiterated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India remains firmly committed to establishing lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and completely eliminating terrorism. Emphasising the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, he said that sustained and coordinated efforts by the government have significantly weakened the terror ecosystem in the Union Territory.
The Home Minister appreciated the efforts of security agencies in strengthening the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing should continue in a focused and mission-mode manner.
Amit Shah directed all security agencies to remain vigilant and maintain close coordination to ensure that the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are preserved. He underlined the objective of achieving a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir” at the earliest and assured that all necessary resources would be made available to support this effort. ANB
