New Delhi, Apr 3: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday underscored the enduring civilisational and spiritual significance of Ayodhya, describing it as the “cradle of civilisation” and an “eternal fountainhead of consciousness” that continues to illuminate humanity across generations.
Addressing the 8th Ayodhya Parv at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in New Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor called for internalising the essence of Ayodhya through the ideals of Lord Ram, asserting that its timeless values remain relevant in guiding both individual and collective progress.
He emphasised that Ayodhya transcends geographical identity, representing a deeper understanding of self and civilisation. “Ayodhya is not merely a city but a living consciousness of the present and a compass for the future. It is our root and a dynamic source of national inspiration,” he said.
Highlighting its philosophical and moral dimensions, Sinha said Ayodhya fosters values such as duty, dignity, compassion, sacrifice and balance, adding that these principles were not only preached but lived. He noted that the ideals of truth, righteousness and dharma embodied in Lord Ram’s life offer enduring lessons for the world, particularly in times of global uncertainty.
The Lieutenant Governor further observed that Ayodhya inspires a balance between tradition and progress, stressing that development must not come at the cost of cultural roots. “It reminds us that life is not just about speed, but about the right direction,” he said.
Describing Ayodhya as a symbol of cultural continuity and global identity, Sinha highlighted its potential as a civilisational centre with both cultural and economic significance. He credited the efforts of Narendra Modi in revitalising its global prominence, adding that understanding and preserving civilisational roots strengthens both cultural richness and economic resilience.
He reiterated that Ayodhya represents an unbroken continuum where the past and present coexist, and where traditions, faith and consciousness continue to flow seamlessly across generations.
