Bandipora Man Held with Heroin During Vehicle Check in Samba, FIR Registered Under NDPS Act*
Samba, June 7: ANB: Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police arrested an drug peddler and recovered approximately 4.50 grams of heroin-like substance, commonly known as chitta, during a vehicle checking operation in Vijaypur.
According to police, a team from Police Station Vijaypur was conducting routine checking at Naka AIIMS Vijaypur when it intercepted a Baleno car bearing registration number JK15C-5163 coming from the Samba side. During the search of the vehicle, police recovered approximately 4.50 grams of heroin-like substance from the possession of the driver.
The accused has been identified as Bilal Ahmed Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Battoo Mohalla, Tehsil and District Bandipora. He was arrested on the spot, while the recovered contraband and the vehicle were seized.Police have registered a case under FIR No. 94/2026 under Sections 8, 21, 22 and 25 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Vijaypur. Further investigation into the case is underway. ANB
