J&K BJP Reviews Organisation, Grassroots Outreach at Srinagar Meeting
SRINAGAR, August 23, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held its State Office Bearers’ and organisational meetings at Hotel Countryside, Nowgam, Srinagar, to review the party’s organisational functioning, strengthen grassroots outreach and chalk out preparations for upcoming political and organisational programmes.
J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament Sat Sharma chaired the meeting, which was addressed by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh. BJP J&K General Secretary Anwar Khan conducted the proceedings.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma stressed the need for sustained ideological commitment and a stronger organisational presence at the booth level. He called for regular meetings at all levels, from Booth and Shakti Kendra to Mandal, District and State, to improve coordination and maintain continuous engagement with the public.
He also emphasised the need for increased Pravas by senior leaders and office bearers to strengthen direct interaction with people across Jammu and Kashmir. Sharma said the BJP was not merely a political organisation but a movement rooted in nationalist ideology and committed to public service.
Dr Jitendra Singh appreciated the party’s organisational strength in Jammu and Kashmir and urged its leaders and workers to remain prepared to meet emerging political and organisational challenges. He stressed the importance of effectively communicating the government’s development initiatives and achievements to the people.
Sunil Sharma highlighted the sacrifices and dedication of the BJP cadre in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the party’s expanding grassroots presence was the result of years of commitment and hard work by its workers.
Ashok Koul reviewed ongoing organisational programmes, including the Digital Learning Programme, Mann Ki Baat and monthly meetings at the Shakti Kendra, Booth, Mandal and District levels. He called for sustained organisational activity and stronger coordination among party workers.
Jugal Kishore Sharma described the political resolution as a roadmap for the party’s future course of action and urged the cadre to work with dedication towards its effective implementation.
Dr Nirmal Singh emphasised the role of State Office Bearers in maintaining a strong link between the party organisation and the people. He called for greater interaction with workers and the public at the grassroots level.
Ghulam Ali Khatana underlined the growing significance of social and other media platforms in communicating the party’s programmes, policies and public outreach initiatives. He urged party workers to make effective use of these platforms to widen communication with the people.
Separate interactions and organisational meetings with senior leaders, District Presidents, District Prabharis and MLAs were also held at the venue. These meetings reviewed organisational functioning and discussed measures to further strengthen the party’s presence and public outreach across Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP leadership called upon the cadre to remain united, disciplined and closely connected with the people while working with renewed commitment to strengthen the organisation at every level. ANB
