Jammu, November 10, 2025:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha, Jammu and Kashmir, today organized a programme at the Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda—the legendary Adivasi freedom fighter and symbol of tribal pride, unity, and resistance.

The event, chaired by Shri Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, witnessed the participation of a large number of tribal leaders, activists, and community representatives from across the Union Territory. Among those who addressed the gathering were Haroon Choudhary, former President ST Morcha, Choudhary Abdul Ghani, President BJP ST Morcha, and other senior party functionaries.

Paying glowing tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Shri Ashok Koul described him as “a towering icon of tribal identity and social justice whose courage and vision continue to guide the nation’s journey towards equality and empowerment.”

He said Birsa Munda’s relentless fight against colonial exploitation and social oppression remains an enduring source of inspiration for the BJP’s ongoing mission to uplift tribal communities.
“Birsa Munda’s ideals remind us to work with dedication and unity for the progress of every tribal family. It is our responsibility to strengthen the tribal voice in every forum and fulfill his dream of equality, self-respect, and empowerment,” Shri Koul said.

Highlighting the central government’s efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added that the BJP has accorded unprecedented focus to the welfare of Scheduled Tribes—ensuring their meaningful participation in India’s development journey with dignity and opportunity.

Speaking on the occasion, Haroon Choudhary recalled Birsa Munda’s lifelong struggle for justice and socio-economic reform, noting that his vision continues to inspire ongoing efforts for the upliftment of tribal communities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Choudhary Abdul Ghani lauded the Modi government’s historic initiatives for ST welfare, including measures in forest rights, education, health, and political representation. He urged party workers to take these schemes to every tribal household and ensure their effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Prominent among those present were Riaz Choudhary, General Secretary ST Morcha, Choudhary Jan Mohammad, and several senior Gujjar and tribal leaders, who reaffirmed their resolve to continue Birsa Munda’s mission under the BJP’s visionary leadership.
