BJP Observes Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 110th Birth Anniversary Across J&K

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday observed the 110th birth anniversary of party ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya with programmes at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, and at J-53, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar. Tributes were also paid to Upadhyaya at various organisational levels across the Union Territory. At the BJP headquarters in Jammu, J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with senior party leaders and workers, paid floral tributes to Upadhyaya. Sat Sharma described Upadhyaya as a philosopher, organiser and prominent leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh whose ideas continue to influence the BJP’s ideological framework. He said Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya emphasised the welfare and dignity of the last person in society. According to Sharma, his ideas continue to find reflection in welfare-oriented governance aimed at social and economic empowerment. “While individuals do not live forever, great personalities continue to live through their ideals and inspire generations,” Sharma said. In Srinagar, BJP J&K General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul paid floral tributes to Upadhyaya. J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, BJP Vice-President Dr Shahnaz Ganai, Secretary Arif Raja and other senior leaders were present on the occasion. Koul recalled Upadhyaya’s life of simplicity, dedication and public service, stating that he remained committed to his mission despite facing hardships from an early age. He said Upadhyaya worked for social unity, patriotism and equality, and called upon party workers to familiarise people with his ideas and principles. Koul said Upadhyaya’s life continues to serve as a source of inspiration for BJP workers and urged them to uphold his emphasis on service, social harmony and national reconstruction.
