JAMMU, MARCH 15: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Sunday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of major land records digitisation initiatives, including the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP), Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA), Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN), and National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA).
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra, Secretary Revenue Department Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir divisions, and Deputy Commissioners who joined through video conferencing from their respective district headquarters, besides other senior officers.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary highlighted the transformative potential of these land digitisation initiatives and termed them a significant governance reform aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency and accessibility in land administration. He said the initiatives would streamline land records management, reduce disputes and ensure better service delivery to the public.
Dulloo emphasised the need for close coordination among departments and directed officials to accelerate the implementation of these programmes to ensure timely completion and maximum public benefit. He also reviewed district-wise progress and asked the Deputy Commissioners to monitor the initiatives regularly and address bottlenecks on priority.
The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen data accuracy, promote integration of digital land records with other governance platforms and ensure wider awareness among the public about the benefits of the ongoing digitisation drive.
