DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security Preparedness, Orders Enhanced Vigilance Across Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar, July 24 (ANB): Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Friday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir and directed officers to intensify area domination, strengthen intelligence gathering, and maintain a high state of operational preparedness in view of the prevailing security scenario and adverse weather conditions. According to an official handout, senior police officers from across Jammu and Kashmir attended the meeting and briefed the DGP on the prevailing security situation, threat assessment, and operational readiness of field formations. Reviewing the security arrangements, the DGP instructed officers to enhance area domination and night patrolling, particularly in vulnerable and urban areas, to ensure a visible police presence and effectively deter anti-national activities. He also called for strengthening the security grid around vital installations and improving intelligence sharing through closer inter-agency coordination. Emphasising intelligence-driven counter-terrorism operations, Nalin Prabhat directed officers to identify and dismantle the remaining terrorist networks while ensuring swift, coordinated responses to any attempt to disrupt peace and public order. The DGP further instructed all field formations to ensure uninterrupted telecom connectivity and maintain robust police communication systems to facilitate seamless operational coordination. In view of the prevailing weather conditions, he directed all units to remain on high alert and maintain effective coordination and communication to respond promptly to any emergency situation. The meeting concluded with the DGP urging officers to remain vigilant, mission-oriented, and steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding peace, security, and public confidence across the Union Territory, the official handout said.
