Dr Darakhshan Andrabi Presides Over Global Peace Convention in Srinagar, Calls India’s Message Key to Global Harmony

Srinagar, March 29, 2026: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Sunday presided over a global convention on peace and harmony held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here.
The one-day event, themed “Message of Peace for the Whole Humanity,” was organised by the Swami Vivekanand International Peace & Spiritual Cultural Centre in collaboration with Zenith Book of World Records and World Star Records. The convention witnessed participation from parliamentarians, diplomats, bureaucrats, and intellectuals from across India and abroad, including a delegation from Nepal.
The programme was attended by Rajib Pal, founder of the Centre, social activist Anil Chauhan, singer and brand ambassador of World Star Records Santsree Bhattacharya, Padma Shri awardee and former Member of Parliament Dr Vikas Mahatme, jurist Dr Harendraroy Yadav, and yoga expert Acharya Shri Raja Shastri, among others.
A key highlight of the event was a peace dialogue between Indian and Nepali think tanks representing various states, focusing on fostering global harmony and cooperation. Several individuals were felicitated with awards in different categories during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi said that India’s message of peace offers a way forward in a world grappling with conflict. She remarked that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a significant transformation over the years, moving from a phase marked by violence and unrest to an era of peace and development.
She attributed the change to policy decisions taken by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the region is now contributing positively to national growth. “Those who have experienced the consequences of violence understand the true value of peace,” she said.
Dr Andrabi noted that the improved environment has enabled youth in the region to actively participate in various sectors and contribute to the nation’s progress. She emphasised the collective responsibility of sustaining peace to ensure future generations benefit from harmony, coexistence, and brotherhood.
The Waqf Board Chairperson also congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue their exemplary work. She expressed gratitude to Rajib Pal for conferring upon her the Zenith Book of Records Honour in recognition of her contributions to peace and harmony.
