Srinagar : March 8, 2025 : A General Body meeting was held at Press Club of Kashmir premises on Saturday and reiterated their support to the presidentship of Mohammad Saleem Pandit , who also happens to be the life-time patron of the club.
President Mohammad Saleem Pandit and General secretary Zulfikar Majid apprised the members about the initiatives proposed like Health Insurance cover to the journalists and their one of the family members .
The members expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the Press club of Kashmir . The members also criticised Shri Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the Press Club of Kashmir and Jammu on the floor of the assembly in Jammu, wherein he said that he would work for the revival of the clubs.
However, the members expressed concern over the CM's ignorance that both the Press clubs at Jammu and Srinagar already exist under proper management.
The president, press club of Kashmir , Mohammad Saleem Pandit also criticized chief minister Omar Abdullah for giving distorted statements on the floor of the Assembly House.
The meeting was attended, among others by General Secretary Zulfikhar shed light on the future proposals of the Press Club of Kashmir and disclosed that the executive body is proposing to offer a health insurance cover to the club members and their family members in the coming future , which will help mitigate the health issues of the journalists in the valley in particular.
