Heritage and Hope: ASKPC (SDYSS) Marks 77th Republic Day, Emphasises Social Renewal and Resilience

JAMMU, January 26, 2026:
The All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC)–SDYSS (Regd) today celebrated the 77th Republic Day at its office on Amarnath Vaishnavi Marg, Lane No. 2, Sector-1, Durganagar, Jammu, with a renewed pledge to constitutional values, social renaissance and community resilience.
Led by President R.K. Wangnoo, the ceremony brought together senior members and community representatives to pay homage to the Indian Constitution and reflect on the Kashmiri Pandit community’s journey within India’s democratic framework.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Bakshi underlined the need to translate patriotism into everyday action. He said true nationalism lies in sustained social reconstruction and inclusive progress, calling for the creation of an “Inclusive Helping Zone” where the constitutional ideals of justice, liberty and equality reach every marginalised section. He stressed that the community’s endeavour goes beyond preserving heritage to shaping a future rooted in mutual dignity.
Among those present were R.L. Koul, Ravinder Raina, Veena Grutoo, Daizy Bhat, J.L. Pandita, Nana Ji Bhan, P.K. Dhar, C.L. Bhat, and other members, who collectively reaffirmed ASKPC’s commitment to the welfare of the Kashmiri Pandit community and its meaningful integration into the socio-economic development of the Union Territory.
Key announcements for 2026 included a new initiative to support youth education in technology and public policy, and a plan to digitise ancestral records and historical manuscripts to preserve the “Kashmiri ethos” as an integral part of India’s cultural mosaic. The leadership also urged expeditious redressal of long-pending community issues, terming them rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
“As the tricolour unfurls, it symbolises our unwavering faith in the Indian State,” President R.K. Wangnoo said. “From Durganagar to the rest of the country, our message is clear—the Kashmiri Pandit community remains a vital pillar of India’s secular and democratic identity.”
