IGP Kashmir Reviews Security and Crime Situation in Budgam

Srinagar, September 27: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar, IPS, on Sunday visited Budgam district and reviewed the prevailing security and crime situation during a high-level meeting at the District Police Headquarters, Budgam. The meeting was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Omparkash Pande, IPS, SSP Budgam Hariprasad K K, IPS, and other senior police officers of the district. During the meeting, the IGP reviewed the overall security scenario, crime situation, crime-prevention measures, investigation of cases, security arrangements and ongoing policing operations across the district. He directed officers to further strengthen the existing security grid and maintain close coordination among different field formations to ensure an effective and coordinated policing response. The IGP also stressed the need for timely investigation of criminal cases and appropriate action in accordance with law. He called upon officers to take effective preventive measures against criminal and anti-social activities. Sujit Kumar further directed officers to maintain heightened vigilance and sustain security measures to safeguard public safety and preserve peace across the district. SSP Budgam briefed the IGP on the prevailing security and crime scenario and apprised him of various measures being undertaken to strengthen policing, security arrangements and public safety. The visit focused on reviewing operational preparedness, strengthening inter-agency coordination and ensuring effective policing measures for maintaining peace and security in Budgam. ANB
