India thwarts Pakistani Aerial Strikes with Superior Air Defence system, DGMO Says country boarders are fully safe with enemyies nefarious designs

New Delhi,  May 12 — In a high-level media briefing, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Rajiv Ghai shared key insights into India's robust air defence measures that effectively countered recent cross-border aerial threats.

According to News Service, Associated News Bureau, ANB, Joined by Air Marshal Bharti, the DGMO highlighted the seamless coordination between the Indian Army and Air Force during Operation SINDOOR, which saw India’s multi-layered air defence network successfully repel hostile incursions.

Addressing the rising complexity of terror threats, particularly those targeting civilians—such as the recent incidents in Shiv Khori and Pahalgam—the DGMO detailed how India had anticipated retaliatory strikes. In response, a fortified defence matrix comprising counter-unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare assets, and integrated air defence weapons was deployed in tandem with Indian Air Force platforms.

“Pakistan’s drone and UAV attacks on 9 and 10 May were swiftly and effectively neutralized,” the DGMO confirmed, noting that all Indian airfields remained operational while Pakistani air capabilities sustained substantial damage.

The DGMO also commended the Border Security Force (BSF), emphasizing the critical role of their Counter-UAS systems in reinforcing India’s air shield. “From the Director General to the last jawan, the BSF demonstrated exemplary commitment,” he said.

Reaffirming the unified strategy under Operation SINDOOR, the DGMO praised the joint efforts of all three military branches and the unwavering support of civil agencies. He concluded with a message of gratitude to the people of India for their enduring solidarity and encouragement.

“Jab hosla buland ho, to manzil bhi kadam chumti hai,” he declared, invoking the enduring spirit of India’s defenders. ANB
