Labour Department Clarifies Circulating Video Clips of Review Meeting, Cautions Against Unverified Content
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Labour and Employment has issued a clarification regarding selectively edited video clips circulating on social media from a review meeting chaired by the Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, on October 14, 2026.
The meeting, held from 3 pm to 6 pm, focused on reviewing departmental performance across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The department stated that the complete recording of the proceedings is available with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
During the meeting, the chair emphasised the expectations associated with Mission YUVA and called upon district officers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, accountability and commitment. The officers were urged to ensure the effective implementation of the mission and the timely delivery of its benefits to eligible youth.
The department underscored the importance of mutual respect, discipline and professional decorum in official interactions, stating that all officers and officials must maintain appropriate conduct while performing their duties. It also stressed that provocative remarks and inappropriate language have no place in administrative engagements, which must be guided by restraint, mutual respect and institutional dignity.
Expressing concern over the circulation of selectively edited video clips, the department said that presenting excerpts from internal administrative discussions without the complete context could create a misleading impression of the actual proceedings.
It described the circulating clips as unverified and emphasised the need to consider the full context of the meeting before drawing conclusions. The department further stated that the matter would be taken to its logical conclusion in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
The department appealed to media organisations and members of the public to exercise caution and refrain from sharing or relying on unverified or sensationalised content circulating on social media.
Reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and improved public service delivery, the department said that effective implementation of Mission YUVA remains a priority across Jammu and Kashmir.
