Kargil, Oct 23: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today underscored that entrepreneurship and self-employment are pivotal drivers of economic growth, innovation, and job creation, stressing that they play a vital role in generating wealth and enhancing the standard of living in society.
Addressing the culmination ceremony of Phase I of the Jan Hit Campaign organised by the District Administration Kargil at Hussaini Park, the Lt Governor highlighted that entrepreneurship fosters creativity and competition, while self-employment offers individuals sustainable livelihoods, particularly during times of high unemployment.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, self-help groups, artisans, youth, and beneficiaries of various centrally sponsored schemes.
Commending the District Administration for its efforts in ensuring the effective implementation of welfare programmes and visible progress over the past 100 days, LG Gupta said that government-sponsored schemes are key instruments of national development and equitable growth, especially in underdeveloped regions. He stressed that these initiatives aim to eradicate poverty, improve infrastructure, and strengthen human capital formation.
> “It is crucial to spread awareness about centrally-sponsored schemes among youth, women, and artisans so they can avail the full benefits to improve their livelihoods and ensure a better future for their families,” he said.
The Lt Governor reiterated that the Government of India and the UT Administration are fully committed to the holistic development of Ladakh and the uplift of all sections of society.
