LG Manoj Sinha Applauds Rescue Teams for Saving 300 Tourists Stranded in Gulmarg Cable Cars
Srinagar, May 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday commended the exceptional courage and professionalism displayed by disaster response agencies and security forces during the successful rescue operation of nearly 300 tourists stranded mid-air in cable cars at Gulmarg Gondola.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said the nation stands united in applauding the bravery of the rescue teams, which ensured the safe evacuation of all passengers after a challenging six-hour-long operation.
“The nation stands united in applauding extraordinary bravery of disaster response teams, who safely rescued 300 tourists stranded mid-air in Gulmarg’s cable cars. Army, JKP, SDRF, NDRF, DC, SSPs moved promptly and after a six-hour operation, rescued all passengers from 65 cable cars,” the Lieutenant Governor stated.
He further said that all tourists were safe and that he had spoken with senior officials, directing them to provide every necessary support to the rescued passengers.
“The nation salutes the disaster response forces, Army, JKP and district administration for their valor and remarkable skill,” he added.
The rescue operation involved personnel from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and district administration officials, who worked in coordination to ensure the safe rescue of all stranded tourists under difficult conditions.
