LG Manoj Sinha attends Sant Kabir Nirvan Diwas event in Bishnah, calls for inclusive and progressive India


Jammu, Feb 15: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged citizens to work towards societal transformation and build a prosperous India capable of guiding the world toward peace and progress.
He was addressing a commemorative function organised on the 508th Nirvan Diwas of Sant Kabir by the Shiromani Sant Kabir Bhavan at Chak Avtara in Bishnah.
Highlighting the continued relevance of Sant Kabir’s teachings, the Lieutenant Governor said the saint’s eternal wisdom offers a path toward social unity and balanced spiritual and material development. He noted that Sant Kabir’s philosophy continues to inspire society and awaken its collective conscience.
Emphasising India’s civilisational strengths, the Lieutenant Governor said the country’s ability to harmonise technology with tradition provides a strong foundation for 21st-century growth. He observed that India’s ancient values and modern innovations together form a blueprint for national success and global leadership.
Referring to the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, he said the idea of the world as one family holds special significance amid growing global economic and strategic divisions. India’s timeless wisdom, he added, presents a vision of unity, peace and shared prosperity.
Calling for social responsibility, the Lieutenant Governor urged all sections of society to reduce economic disparities and social divisions by promoting inclusion and upholding constitutional values. He also reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to addressing issues related to reservation in promotion and the declaration of a gazetted holiday on Sant Kabir Jayanti in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Among those present were Rajeev Bhagat, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Bishnah; Faqir Chand Bhagat, Chairman of Shiromani Sant Kabir Bhavan; Vipen Kumar, Chairman of the All Jammu Based Reserved Category Employees Association; senior officials and prominent citizens.
