LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas Preparedness Ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026

Jammu, July 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for pilgrims at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu ahead of the commencement of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, directing officials to ensure seamless facilities and effective crowd management for devotees. During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor inspected the overall preparedness at the base camp, taking stock of logistics, accommodation, security arrangements, healthcare services, help desks, sanitation, power and water supply, emergency response mechanisms and other essential facilities aimed at ensuring a safe, smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage. He instructed the concerned authorities to strengthen manpower deployment to efficiently manage the expected heavy influx of pilgrims. He also emphasized the need for regular public announcements at Bhagwati Nagar and the Tawi Riverfront to ensure that yatris receive timely updates and essential information throughout their stay. The Lieutenant Governor interacted with devotees of Baba Barfani and conveyed his best wishes for a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage. The 57-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will commence on July 3, 2026, simultaneously from the two traditional base routes, and will conclude on August 28, 2026. The first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, on July 2. The review visit was attended by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special Director General (Coordination PHQ) S.J.M. Gillani, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Inspector General CRPF Jammu Sector Amol V. Homkar, Inspector General Traffic M. Suleman Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas, Municipal Commissioner Jammu Dr. Devansh Yadav, besides senior officers of the civil administration, police and security forces.
