LG Sinha Applauds Armed Forces Medical Services for Restoring Sight of 220 Patients in Tangdhar
Srinagar, September 26, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has lauded the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) for successfully restoring the sight of 220 patients during a mega eye surgical camp conducted under ‘Operation Drishti’ in Tangdhar, Karnah.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor commended the surgeons and medical personnel for conducting the surgical camp at an underground operation theatre in the challenging border area.
“Kudos to surgeons and personnel of the Armed Forces Medical Services for successfully conducting the Mega Eye Surgical Camp under Operation Drishti at Tangdhar, Karnah. Restoring sight to 220 people in an underground operation theatre in a challenging border area is a remarkable achievement,” Sinha said.
He said the dedication of the medical team, led by Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, reflected the spirit of Operation Sadbhavana.
The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the provision of advanced eye-care procedures, including phacoemulsification, retinal and glaucoma surgeries, to residents of remote border areas.
He said such initiatives were aimed at ensuring access to specialised healthcare for people living in remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
