Omar Abdullah, UNICEF India Discuss Strengthening Child Protection in J&K

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 7: A delegation from UNICEF India called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar on Monday and held discussions on strengthening child-focused development initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting focused on key areas concerning the welfare and protection of children, including measures to enhance child protection mechanisms, prevent violence and exploitation, and strengthen the juvenile justice system. The discussions also covered the expansion and effective implementation of welfare programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable children across the Union Territory. The interaction underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among government agencies and development partners to create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for children and ensure their rights and well-being.
