One Terrorist Neutralised in Joint Operation in Budgam’s Ashdar Gali
Budgam, September 4: One terrorist was neutralised during a joint search operation conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the general area of Ashdar Gali in Budgam, the Indian Army said.
The operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.
During the operation, alert troops observed suspicious movement and challenged the suspected terrorists, following which they opened fire. The security forces responded, leading to an intense exchange of fire, the Army said.
In the ensuing operation, one terrorist was neutralised. An AK-series rifle and other war-like stores were recovered from the site, according to the Army.
The search operation was continuing in the area to ascertain whether any other terrorists or suspicious material were present. ANB
